Common App-Teacher Recommendations Question!?

If your teachers are submitting their recommendations on paper instead of electronically, will I be able to see if it has been received or not?

So far, it just says the date the recommendations have been assigned, but will this change to, "Submitted _____(with date it was received)"?

*My counselor, who submitted hers online, is now in green with "Submitted ____"

Help?

Hi Kiwigirl. If your teachers are submitting hardcopy, you could see nothing at all regarding status on common app, so you can check with your teacher once school starts again to see if they need anything else from you. Some teachers will respond to the email that commonapp.org sends them by stating that they will respond hardcopy. In that case, you will see something to that effect in the status for that teacher (or counselor). The common app will only update to “Submitted” if the teacher responded online.

For teachers or counselors that respond hardcopy, you could track whether your college has received it or not via the college’s application status website, if they have one. Some schools don’t have that, but they will send you a hardcopy mail stating which things the college still needs from you.
