<p>I don't understand how the essay is supposed to be exactly the same for every school you are applying to. I planned to personalize them a little bit. I tried writing a generic 'why i want to transfer' essay and it's pretty pathetic. At least one of the schools I'm applying to is a SUNY school. It looks like they don't require a supplement for transfer students, so everything I want to get across has to go into this essay. Why would they make it so you have to send the same essay to every school? It makes no sense to me.</p>
<p>I have run into the same issue. My plan so far is to write it with my number 1 school in mind but not to include any details that might conflict with the other choices.</p>
<p>That’s basically what I decided to do - start with my top choice in mind, but if I edit out all the details, I’ll have nothing left. My top school offers both majors I’m interested in and I planned to touch on both in the essay. The rest only offer one or the other. Plus, I wanted to mention that I visited the campus and how much I liked it, but I can’t do that with every school because I’ve only visited 2. I am truly baffled why they would tell us to submit the same essay to every school.</p>
