<p>usually its the common app + a supplement, and you do both</p>
<p>most people here aren't adcoms, so they wouldn't "ACTUALLY know". Not to mention, adcoms will tell you there's no preference. So we can really only speculate. From what I know, the schools who use the CommonApp are required to consider it as equivalent to their own (it's part of the contract or something). I would use the CommonApp (if you have several schools that accept it) only because I don't believe it could really make that much of a difference. The credentials are the same, the writing style is the same, the scores are the same. If you're going to get rejected with the CommonApp, I don't see why you wouldn't be rejected with the college's own app.</p>
