Common App

so on the new 2011-2012 app, it says "Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at any educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade (or the international equivalent)
forward, whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in a disciplinary action? These actions could include, but are not limited to: probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution."

What does disciplinary actions mean? He was caught cheating on a test, but the only consequences were a zero on the test and a referral to the principal, and they only talked. and the principal said no one else would know, or something along those lines.

by disciplinary actions does it mean like probation, suspension, and other things like that? or is a talk a disciplinary action?

They are just talking suspensions/expulsions. Nothing besides that is recorded on your disciplinary record and therefore does not really exist.

my friend’s reply:

THANK YOU!
