Common App

Do colleges really not care if you use the common app vs. their own app? Harvard and Princeton are on the list for the common app, but I don't want to use it if they REALLY prefer you use their app. THANKS!

If they accept the common app they will look at without bias. Don't worry about it, use the common app.

Use the common app and spend the time you'll save on all their little supplemental essays. :)

harvard doesn't have their own app, they only use the common app and the supplement. As for princeton, they have their own app but they agreed to look at both apps the same.

Yeah that's the contractual obligation but does that really happen?

Honestly I don't think it really matters.

I mean, all they're really looking for is your GPA, SAT/ACT, ECs, essays, and other factors. As long as that's presented on the application, I don't think they will really care.

Besides, for most places with both choices there is a supplement that includes any special info or unique essays they require.
