I will apply to more than 20 colleges. More than 20 use only the common app, so some are left, and i don’t know how to send my application to them. May o create a second Common app account? I received the portals of the colleges i sent my application to them through the common app. So, will this affect me even if the common app closed my first account?
You can’t apply to more than 20 colleges on the Common App. Deleting a college to which you already applied does not open up a new space. The Common App will close a second account.
Agree you can’t make a second commonapp account.
You can apply to some colleges via their own app and/or on the coalition app…what schools are you talking about?
Is there a specific reason you’re applying to so many? “Shotgunning” to a large number of very similar colleges isn’t necessarily helpful. Perhaps if you share some names and reasons, we can help take a few off your list?
You can’t apply to more than 20 via common app so you will have to use the schools’ own applications.
What is the reason for applying to so many colleges? If you are using the lottery ticket approach, understand that getting into college isn’t based on luck.
You can use Coalition App for those schools that take it. However you will have to re-enter everything in a slightly different format and request new recommendations, transcripts, and supporting materials to be uploaded.
We applied to 21 - but reviewed the apps up front and did those that were easy on their own - via the school. So we planned ahead.
We did Arizona and Indiana using their apps - and thus did 18 on Common App. Alabama was the 21st - they only have their own app.
I’m not hear to say you are doing too many - that’s an individual choice. But you do need to plan around it. If the others are on coalition, you can do that. Or just eliminate a few. Your title says Stetson and Carnegie Mellon…you may be the only person who ever applies to those two - so if you’re that legit a student, eliminate Stetson…or whatever is lowest in rank on your list.
Maybe 20 is enough and this the universe’s way of telling you to stop and focus on additional options while you wait to hear back.
That was a lot of work to get those done. Make sure your other docs like transcripts are all submitted.
You are an international student looking for 100% of college costs covered in need based and/or merit aid based on your other posts.
Spend some time looking at options for safeties closer to home. Look at other countries where you may fit into their college application process and financial aid.
Start to figure out actual costs to come to college in the US. Not all “meet 100% of need” are equal. Most will expect you and your family to cover some personal expenses. You will want some additional money for extras like meals off campus or travel to other cities to visit. Some colleges are harder to get to than others once you land at the nearest airport.
