Do you have to send the materials (Teacher Recs, Secondary Report) by the online submission deadline? Or can you postmark them after the online deadline?

send them by the online date..........

Do you absolutely have to? I mean, will it make a difference if they are sent on, say, Jan 6th?

I don't mean to shout but: ALWAYS SEND EVERYTHING BY THE DEADLINE.

Yes, it will make a difference, because assuming we're talking about a Jan 1 deadline, you'll be sending it 5 days late and who knows when they'll receive it.

Also, some schools say "postmarked by" but others want to receive it and have it "in the hands of an admissions officer by."

Why would you ever jeopardize your application by sending something as simple as a recommendation letter late?

Just get it done. If you haven't given your stuff to your teachers to write your recommendation yet, you're really pushing the envelope on common courtesy. At the very least 2 weeks, but why give your teachers that extra stress when its already a favor?

Just send them in on time, preferable early. There is no such thing as fashionably late with application deadlines.
