i was wondering how the common app would influence the admissions/admissions rate for umich next year...

obviously they will get (probably significantly) more applications.

so will they admit more students than they normally would, or will it become seriously more competitive than last year to get in? it makes me kind of nervouss!!

it would obviously become more competitive because they aren’t going to drastically increase student body number.

just a guess, but I would imagine the addition of ED will have at least/or more affect than the common app…

They’re having EA not ED

but they can’t expect the percent increase in applicants to = the amount that would accept the offers of admissions…so would they admit slightly more students than usual, or create a bigger wait list, or what?

they wont admit more students than before. they’ll just have a bigger waitlist or increase admission standards

When will the common application be available for the 2011 class students?

WolverineWhiz: according to admissions reps speaking at both info sessions and at guidance counselor fairs, UMich is instituting ED starting with the incoming class…if that has changed since February, you might want to post on the UMich main forum; there are alot of people who know about this already…it may not be posted on the UMich website yet, but I’m assuming it will show up on common app when it goes live in August for the HS class of 2011…

According to the admissions office and their counselors whom i talked to when I visited UMich it’s going to be EA…they might be wrong though…

which does michigan currently have now…EA or ED? and which one are they changing it to?

Is the common app’s release date unified, i.e., once it goes out, its effective for all of its participating uni’s, or is application release for a uni independent from common app’s release; basically, when is U of M’s app first coming out.
