Common Application #5 - Diversity

Do you think that talking about world traveling is a plausible essay topic? I would be discussing the countries I have visited and their cultural impact on me and my personal views on the world: India, United Kingdom, America (including Alaska), Canada, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Holland, France, Belgium, Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Countries I've lived in: America, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, UAE (Dubai). I have been exposed to some of these countries from when I was 1 to 17. For the younger years, some of these countries like Singapore, Kong Kong, and South Korea, I would be talking about how the culture of the country has affected my upbringing, i.e. the food and the traditions. For some of the other countries, I would be comparing them to each other and how they have widened my perspective on poverty, opportunity, and various traditions in general. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Yes it’s a plausible essay topic. But be careful and make it unique! Many people write about traveling in college essays. This topic can easily become overdone and dull to read.

Thats a great topic, and it is going to be very easy to make it yours because of all the unique places that you have to include. Just make sure you can include it all, while being descriptive, in under the maximum amount of words allowed.
