Common Application: Additional Information

Hey CC Community,

(Mainly for Wesleyan and Middlebury)

For the Additional Information part on the Common Application, what is the purpose of additional information?

I was thinking of putting that I couldn't do my TV Media Design activity during Junior year as the schedule conflicted with AP Calc.

Also that I didn't do Honors Classes in Sophomore year because I wasn't offered them.
(In my school you have to be offered the honors class, and I wasn't)

Lastly stuff about me.
Interest in Neuroscience, Memory, Economics... etc.

Is it paragraphs long, or just short concise statements?

What matters and what doesn't?

I guess you could write about the scheduling issues, although that’s really not necessary, and could also be mentioned by your counselor. But definitely don’t write about your interests… That’s not what this section is for.

Yeah don’t put your interests but you can definitely put scheduling conflicts and maaaybe include the lack of honors classes.

And you can order the information however you would like; I’d recommend (in your case) just a few sentences explaining your situation. Definitely don’t write another whole essay unless you have extenuating circumstances.
