My brother is in a fix right now. After approaching a counselor, we asked him for help drafting essays in the Common Application. Unknown to us, that idiot plagiarized the essays COMPLETELY. We were made aware of this after he had submitted the essays, again without our knowledge or permission. After going through the posts here, I now understand that this is a serious offense. What can we do to mitigate this???

My brother gave him the access to the account to check all what we had written. He said that he would make changes as he saw fit and then present the amendments to us. Turns out he copied most of the essays off forums and blogs, word to word. Either being an idiot or a total noob, he also blundered by submitting the essays without even telling us.
