Common Application - Customized Essay for each School

Hello,

In my Common App essay, I have a line which states the school name. For example, it says something along the lines of: "I hope to continue pursuing my career at Binghamton University."

Can I apply to each college one-at-a-time and upload a new essay (replacing the school name) each time?

Thanks

I'm wondering this too, but for a different reason. (I have an essay about extenuating circumstances/broader view in which to view my app; there is a space for it in some college's supplements but not others, and I don't want the supplement colleges to have to read it twice.)

Whoops. I figured it out. (Let that be a lesson: research before post.)

To the OP, you can find information on this by going to Information on the Common App itself, and hitting "Application Versions." :)

i think the common app locks after you send it once- it'd be pretty bad to accidentally send 'i want to go to SUNY Binghamton' or whatever to all the rest of your schools, so check up on that thouroughly!!

the common app no longer locks itself.

Thanks for the responses. I contacted Common App and you can create multiple versions of your application.
