<p>If I apply to one of the universities but then change my common app essay and apply to another, will it be ok? I mean does the the option of common essay changing turn off after applying? Thanks!</p>
<p>You can have upto three versions of your Common App essay.</p>
<p>You will want to first submit your app using the current version of your essay to every school where you will want to use that current version because once you unlock that version, you won’t be able to recover it.</p>
<p>After those apps are submitted, you can go into the writing section and unlock your essay and edit it as much as you like. Once you submit that version to one or more new schools, it will lock and you will have to unlock again if you want to make further changes before submitting to additional schools. </p>
<p>You can unlock the essay a total of twice and submit a total of three versions of your essay. Each version can be submitted to as many schools as you like.</p>
