Common Application "Extracurricular Highlights"

What do you guys think? Are they weak? Are they strong? I couldn't fit alot of detail in the "Description part" since it only allows for 10ish words. Do they give a good impression and will kind of catch the eye of the admission officer?

Thanks in Advance!

Under the common app where it asks you to "upload any additional documents," I decided to send in a copy of my D.B.A (Doing Business As) form and my condensed business plan for Kizag Developments.

I already send my application to NYU, but I can also choose to send other documents by mail. I am debate whether I should also send a short, one page cover page explaining Junior Achievement, my Inventors and Business club and self employment, since they are very vague. Do you think that I should send my contracts (From manufacturer) and tax forms in order to prove legitimacy for being self employed? I don't think I have a problem with proof of the other things since my teacher mentioned them in the recs. I want the admissions officers to really focus on my business aspect. What do you think?

Oh and if you were curious, I’m applying to:

NYU (Early Decision, already applied)
Northwestern
Chicago
Emory
Notre Dame
Harvard
Rochester
UPenn
Carnegie Mellon
Yale
Columbia
Cornell

(I already got into my safety school :stuck_out_tongue: A&M Ranked #33 in nation for business xD)

Sounds a little dull. Selling candy in school is not very innovative…most people could have thought to do that – except most schools forbid selling food on school property.

Hehe yeah but I still made a good amount :P

About 300-400 profit a month  Decent for just going to school. I had to learn bargaining skills and sales skill, since I did have competition.

And most people would have THOUGHT to do that – but how many people would go through the work? Just like most people would have THOUGHT to make Facebook. I actually learned alot of things by doing this, like how to approach possible customers and how to persuade them into thinking my I am offering the best possible value. Also some basics of accounting too! :D. I had to make sure that I was not screwing up on my calculations, and had to be VERY careful. Most people I know wouldn’t go through that kind of work.

Just curious if you bought a product, online, teaching you how to do this by someone with the first name Ryan? ;)

EDIT: If you did then you should go get an internship with him if you have co-op this spring or during the summer.

I’m not exactly sure what you mean’t :P

By social media consultant (Its a very broad term), I focused on a niche of teaching older generations how to use facebook/twitter because I noticed that they were not using the website’s full potential and benefits

It started by word of mouth and expanded :P

Is that what you mean’t?

Great EC’s! Especially considering that you want to enter the business world - it shows that you have had plenty of exposure and immense interest in what you hope will be your career path. I’m a teensy bit jealous of your EC’s  Good luck!

just one question: when they ask you if you’re going to participate in college, do they mean that exact activity or a similar activity IN college?

similar activity

Thanks guys!

So do you think it is necessary to send another cover page and manufacturer contracts/self-employment tax forms?

What did you guys send as the “Additional documents”?

Bump! I know you guys are out there :)

Bump! Any more responses?

Yooooooooooo :P

Nobody else?
