Common application green card upload help please?

<p>I've scanned my green card and saved it as a JPEG. Then I made a screenshot of it and put it onto word because Commonapp doesn't accept JPEGs. When I tried to upload the word document, Commonapp said that it exceeded 500KB. Is there a way to shrink the document or is there a better way to do this?</p>

<p>There should be a way to downsize any file. And if not, then get into Paint and save it as a different picture file type that Common App accepts.</p>
