Common Application Letter of Recommendation-For anyone who's been a recommender

<p>For anyone who is very familiar with this or who has actually submitted a LOR under the "other" heading rather than a teacher:</p>

<p>What, exactly, does the email say? (The email that the recommender receives)</p>

<p>I'm helping a young friend with college apps and his recommender wrote back the following:</p>

<p>"I would be thrilled to put together a LOR for you. I see the link for the generic one too. Which do you prefer? I can do both as well if you'd like."</p>

<p>I don't know how to guide my young friend in answering his recommender's question because I have not seen the email. Help, please!</p>

<p>Answering my own question:</p>

<p>I believe what the recommender was asking is if he’s supposed to write school specific letters or just a generic “To Whom It May Concern” at the top. </p>

<p>Pretty sure that’s all it was!</p>
