I have spoken to some people and they say that one should use the colleges' own forms since that shows more dedication. Is this true?</p>

<p>Only for the ones you REALLY want to get into, and only if they still accept their own form.</p>

<p>No, it's not true. The Common App is accepted everywhere (for all schools that take the Common App), just as the school's own form is. Apply using whichever one works better for you.</p>
<p>I was told that my common app colleges actually preferred that means of application. They only want their app if someone can't apply online.</p>
