I am in a weird (possibly tragic) situation, here.

Last night, I sent in my N'western app. The supplement and payment both went through in time. But as the traffic on the site got insane, I tried sending in the common app itself. I pressed submit before midnight, but the server was so slow that it took minutes to process. In the end, a message popped up saying that the deadline has passed for submission, or something to that effect. I emailed admissions and explained this, but they're swamped with emails so they haven't gotten back to me yet. I tried calling this morning, same story.

I guess my question is, am I royally screwed?

At this point, all you can do us wait for admissions to get back to you. You’ve done all that you can, so freaking out would have no purpose. Since it was a CA glitch that caused you to be late, colleges are generally more flexible, since they know how bad traffic can get close to the deadline. I hope it works out for you!

Did it eventually go through? Because the same thing happened to me and I called the admissions office at like 9:30 this morning and they said it was fine. I submitted my app at maybe 12:03. As long as you submitted it today you are fine.

That’s really weird that they didn’t reply to your email quickly; I resubmitted my “why NU” essay because on the supplement I forgot to include the name and stuff and they responded to me that morning…
