Hi everyone, I am having troubles finding the common data set of Columbia. I found the admissions statistics here http://www.columbia.edu/cu/opir/abstract/admissions_all.htm but the information is extremely lacking. I want to find the score range but there's no such information in the table. I found the class of 2016 profile here http://www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/sites/default/files/class_of_2016_profile.pdf and score range is reported. However, the report uses admitted students to calculate the 25/75 percentiles so the scores appears to be significantly higher than expected (2140-2330, not sure whether single-sitting or superscored). By contrast, Common Data Set uses enrolled students to find the score range. So the range is expectedly to be lower (since low-score students tend to get fewer top offers and more likely to accept the Duke offer while 2400 students tend to have multiple options and more likely to choose elsewhere). For example, the CDS for Duke shows the score range of 2000-2290 (I calculated it by adding three sections so it should be superscored). From the two ranges only, Duke is barely comparable to Columbia since the lower limit is 140 pts lower. However, everyone knows Duke is on par with Columbia.
So the question is, is there a detailed common data set for Columbia that I can use to compare Columbia directly with other schools? Can anyone find it for me?
Thanks in advance.

I don’t believe Columbia releases its CDS.

^, can you say why? It just seems like a common practice for university.

Well I don’t know why for sure but it’s up to each university to decide.

Perhaps it allows them to do what you posted about above.

The 2140-2330 range is the combined score that falls within the 25th-75th percentile for admitted students. They provide the admitted stats because that is what is most relevant for prospective students.

According to College Data, the 25th-75th for each respective section of the SAT for the enrolled class is as follows:

Math (700-790)
CR (700-780)
Writing (700-790)
