Common or School Application?

Just wondering, but are you guys using the common application or Princeton's own application this year? Is there a difference to the committee?

From last year's results, there isn't much of a difference. It used to be that if you're applying early, using the school's own application shows more interest. But since Princeton isn't doing ED this year, that might not apply anymore...or maybe you would stand out even more if you did use Princeton's app in RD.

you can one more 150 word essay on the common app. Common app was much more fitting for my essays too, so I saw that as an advantage. I didn't have anything quality to write about a person who impacted my life, but I had an amazing one for the common app, so just used that.

doesn't matter, they honestly dont care

ok thank you!

I second what the above posters have said but would like to add that you should use whichever application you like better. I personally found the Common App confining and infuriating so I went with the Princeton App. But again, it doesn't matter.

ya, just use the common; it's not worth the additional hassle. I did write in at the bottom the 3 activities I am most likely to pursue and sent in an additional rec (both missing from common app but on princeton app)

ya, it's one less essay to write! :)
