@Fenris
Yeah I knew all of those. But people here at College Confidential seem so… uninterested towards UCSD.

Do you go there, Fenris?

Do you go there, Fenris?

That’s because there is SB, LA, and Cal. LA and Cal for better academics, and SB for the better overall experience.

Personally, the times I’ve gone to SD, it hasn’t been exceptionally boring, although it has gotten to that point. If you guys have ever been to sungod festival, you can’t possibly say SD is anti social.

SD does have the reputation of being UC Socially Dead. It’s completely understandable, but in terms of being respectable for academics? That’s not even a valid question.

I’m transferring in this year.

Wow I’m surprised no one mentioned UCR - University of California for the Rejected

“Admittedly, I’ve packed on some muscle…”

xelink

lol. As if you struggled to admit that, as if you were not dying to get in yet another chance to “admit” that you’ve gained 50 pounds of muscle. lol. I guess admitting you were a genius (allegedly) was not enough to get off your chest.

I’m more a borderline genius. Low end of the genius spectrum. So basically nothing exceptional.

and due to not really eating enough or drinking enough water the last month I’ve lost about 10lbs… so ehh. I’ll gain it back soon enough.

cool story brah

@ Fenris’ statement of La Jolla being disgustingly rich; it is definitely true. the college students drive normal econobox cars, but some of the older residents are driving high-end Benzs and Bentleys (as daily drivers). i had never seen someone use a Bentley to go get groceries before then…and i live in Walnut Creek.

the thing about UCSD being socially dead probably derives from the city’s high status; whenever you go to a high income area, the people always seem more occupied with themselves. The residents are less likely to come up to you and talk than in a city like Berkley. Also, for the college students, there is practically nothing to do around the campus except get food. Since La Jolla is a pretty busy city, most of the buildings are offices/fast food joints; if you have a car and dont mind driving, there are tons of things to do (Tijuana, anyone?)

UCSD kind of appeals to me. Beach, nice weather, good academics…

I think ucsd’s “boring” reputation is also reflective of the student body though. Pretty sure half of the students there have med school aspirations, thus they really care about academics.
