Common Subjects to Use on Essay

I thought it'd be useful if everyone made a list of common subjects that can be used for most SAT Essays prompts. Here's a few.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Abraham Lincoln
Hitler
Ghandi
Thomas Edison

Post some more.

American Revolution, WWII, any book that you particularly like, etc.

I’ve heard of many people using John Milton’s Paradise Lost.

Don’t use Hitler. Way overused. I used the movie Requiem for a Dream, The Gambler (by Fyodor Dostoevsky) and a personal example from a political campaign I worked on.

Don’t use the cliched ones. They leave a stale taste in your readers’ mouths. Find some more obscure, “hidden under the surface” examples to pre-learn in that thread Jayxbx linked.

I used Hitler and got an 11. Just make sure your essay is well-written and takes up 2 pages.
