On the "Additional Information" section of the CommonApp, does it matter how much space you use? There are a few things like additional tests and whatnot that I know I want to put in, but is there anything wrong with putting in all of the awards I've won, the extracurricular activities I've participated in, and leadership and community service I've done, etc? Will it come across badly in admissions, or is the section there so you can include all of these things?

I put this in the Stanford forum because I'm applying to Stanford right now, even though the question was about the Common Application.

Thanks.

I was wondering this too. I think the general rule is add whatever/however much you want as long as you don’t get repetitive or nitpicky. Meaning I wouldn’t put ALL of the awards you’ve won. That would be tedious to read. With that said, put whatever you’re proud of because that would reflect you the best rather than the ones you think sound the best.

Good luck during admissions! :)

The representatives I’ve spoken to have basically said that they don’t read the Additional Information section, because they have so many apps and they can usually tell if a candidate is worthy from his or her other materials. I don’t think it would be especially harmful to submit it anyway, but it will most likely be ignored and might be annoying.
