<p>On the commonapp there is this section where you can write a short essay about one of your extracurriculars. </p>
<p>On the Penn Apply Yourself website, at least, there isn't a spot for that, nor is there a spot for the general personal statement. </p>
<p>Is Penn's own short answer question, "what do you like to do for fun", and their essay question about why you want to go to Penn, your reasons for transferring, etc. basically just substitutes for these questions?</p>
