Commonapp - elaborate on one of your activities

For this question, I talked about an incident at the school I tutored at in detail, and wrote a couple of lines about how it helped me.

Should I focus more on the activity and what I do rather than talking about one incident? I don't want to focus more on the activity because
a) it's so common
b) it's what I get out of it that's important, so I just wrote about an incident and what I got out of it

Any advice? Help pleasee.

I think writing about one incident should be fine, especially if it helped you. I think the short essay on activities should be personal to you, and I’m assuming the incident is. I think colleges like to see what you “get out of” things, so what you did should be okay.
