Hi everyone, Thanks for reading this thread, any input will help.
My daughter already submitted her commonapp as she will have a busy senior year. But her GC said the school profile/transcript wont be ready until end of september. But what she reported on her commonapp is her assesment based on her calculations. It will be pretty accurate but maybe off in her GPA by .2 or so. and number of kids in class by a few. Is it a problem? Will the colleges hold it against her that she reported wrong? We are extremely worried and regret applying early as we should have waited till her transcript came out. Please shed some light anyone has any idea?

she should call (or email) the admissions offices of her schools. Ask them what they think. They may ask her to resubmit with corrections, but I doubt that they would punish her for a miscalculation. Most schools allow you to edit the application after you submit as long as you are still ahead of the deadline.

I would not let this go unmentioned to the schools. A difference of .2 on a GPA is a big difference, not a small one. letting the adcoms use the wrong GPA would be lying to them even if it wasn’t intentional.

College ad. officers know that no-one is flawless. I wouldnt beg on your knees for them to forgive you (of course figuratively speaking), but I would explain that the stats have changed since the applications were sent in, and simply let them know that you want to keep up to date with them. This should give off the intention that you are willing to keep in touch. So if it helps you sleep at night, you have an oppurtunity to show up more than the Joe-Schmo that sent the app and never said a word.
