Commonly Asked Questions Re: SATII

to creative_copycat:
are we allowed to get your score report and then cancel? i thought u had to cancel before you get your scores?

How long till the SAT II scores are up on collegeboard? I just took it today

Scores will be out June 24th!!

By the way, does anyone know if its better to omit questions or guess? I know on the SATs, its better to answer as much as you can, but what about subject tests?

I’m not too sure… I think it’s that you have to cancel by this Wednesday, or at least that’s what I remember the proctor saying.

A quick question- Let’s say I needed to retake math. Is there any way I could get my scores, see how I did (if I did well, I won’t retake it), retake it if necessary, and send the higher score? Or do I have to report everything? Thanks!

By using Score Choice, you can hide any scores that you want to. Some schools, however, do not want their applicants to use this option; check their Web sites.

@ aiming high…
i think its better to guess than to leave a question… if u guess u still have a chance of getting it right… and even if it is wrong u lose .25 of a point… which doesnt really matter…
but if u get it right, u get 1 point straight away…so i always guess

one more thing, if you cancel your scores, all the scores get cancelled, not just one…
eg: u took math1,2 and chem… and math 1 dint go well… u ll have to cancel all of them , not just one.

are we allowed to discuss the answers rite now or is there some embargo thing iv heard about??

“are we allowed to discuss the answers rite now or is there some embargo thing iv heard about??”

I have the same question…anyone?

If i take AP Bio and AP World this year, and prepare really well by reading Cliffs for Bio and PR/Barrons for world, will I be fine for the subject tests?

@AimingHigh1 only guess if you can eliminate at least one answer choice. The odds are against you if you just blindly guess without eliminating one.

Uhm, Harvard has revised its application policy. They accept a minimum of 2 tests now (not 3). Same goes for Princeton.

How important are the Sat Subject Tests in relation to college admissions? Should i retake them? The first time I took them I got a 770 in Math II 730 in chemistry and a 680 in US history. I’m planning on applying to top level colleges.

Ok, another question. What if your SAT II scores were awesome (800 maths-2, 800 chem and 780 physics) but the SAT I score was just ok-ok (2230)?.. Should one be retaking the SAT I or will SAT II scores carry one through?
(My EC’s aren’t all that great either).
Thanks!!

Hi there everyone! I am about to be a sophomore in high school, so I’ve already completed my biology course. So do you guys think that the course was sufficient enough for me to take the Biology SAT II test? It wasn’t an AP class (my school won’t let you take it until junior or senior year), but it was my favorite so I paid especially good attention to all details. Plus I just got a 100 on 3 practice tests I found online

Any thoughts? Take it this year, or wait until after I take AP Biology but risk colleges not being able to view the score?

^ If by “I just got a 100 on 3 practice tests I found online,” you mean that you tried three Biology Subject Test practice tests and got all the questions correct, I see no reason to wait.

Hi there. Does it matter when you take the SAT IIs? I mean, will some colleges only accept the score if you take it in a certain month (like October instead of say, June or something) or does that not matter?

What if I am not applying ED? I’m applying regular decision, when’s the latest that I can take the SAT IIs (and the SAT)? Is it november or december?

Hi RainbowSprinkles, to answer your query, SAT is scheduled to be held on Oct 9, Nov 6 and Dec 4 this year.

I am giving SAT on Nov. 6. I bumped across a seemingly useful session on SAT by Neo Educators. They are conducting this session for free. [Login | Facebook](Redirecting...). Hope this is of some help!!

How many wrong answers you can make and you still have 800? I suppose none?I have heard about 6 questions but I believe was wrong

Thank you :)

^i think it depends on the test. some tests have quite generous curves, such as 6 questions.
