What are they like? I am thinking about living in one of the honors dorms because I heard they were really nice (no cinderblock walls, air conditioned) but I’m a bit worried about the social aspect. I like going out and I hear the party scene is in Southwest. I am obviously going to study a lot in school, but I also like to party and was wondering what the party scene is like in the honors dorms. If anyone has any experience with this, please share below. Thank you!
Structurally and socially, they are really nice. The buildings are nice and new so you don’t risk dealing with anything gross/not nice in the rooms. The party scene is quite active (after Southwest, I think it’s the largest party area on campus). There’s work hard, play hard mentally in the honors college, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on all the fun.
They aren’t perfect, they do have some structural issues and such but they are still very nice and seem to be better than the other dorms. I have seen plenty of partying in the freshman honors dorms, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
The CHC dorms are worth going for. The biggest complaint from my S was the distance to a dinning hall. They decided not to build a new dining hall to go with the new dorms. Aside from that mistake, they did a very good job with the new CHC dorms.
