Communal Bathrooms Towers

I was just accept to Pitt for Pre-Information Systems.

I am curious, what are the communal bathrooms like in the Towers?
Specifically, is everyone showing in one big room with multiple heads or are their private stalls with curtains or something?

Thanks!

I can only tell you about the women’s bathrooms, because I have a daughter. But maybe the men’s bathrooms are the same. She was pretty happy with the Towers bathrooms as far as privacy went. There is no communal shower. (She would have hated that.) Instead, there are several separate stalls with curtains. One or two of the stalls in each bathroom are a bit larger, so you can dress in there if you like.

She said the only problem was that late at night, if there was a guy on the floor and he was too lazy to go down to one of the men’s floors, he would use the women’s room. It wasn’t a big problem; it just surprised her the first time it happened!

LurkNessMonster, guys were doing that in my dorm back in the mid 70s. Surprised me then too.

LurkNessMonster is exactly right. Tip: If you love a clean bathroom, figure out when the cleaning crew comes to your floor and try to shower shortly after that.

In Tower C, there are two shower units, one on each end, and each of these are subdivided into two stalls with curtains. Outside these two stalls, there’s a small changing area with a bench and some hooks to hang towels on, also partitioned off from the rest of the bathroom by a curtain. Privacy has never been an issue for me, and as long as everyone cleans up after themselves I don’t feel like the showers are dirty, either. The housekeeper, Louise, who keeps our floor tidy does a really good job and she’s a really nice person, too. I highly recommend getting to know the building staff, cause if you’re friendly and have a problem they’re almost always willing to help you out. :)

Thank you for the information. It is very helpful.
