Communication and Global Studies major

<p>I want to double major in communication (with an emphasis in Mass Media) and global studies (with an emphasis in European studies). I would like to say that I am confident enough in this plan to truck ahead without looking back, but I always like to come on CC on see what people have to say. </p>

<p>I definitely see grad school in my future, though I'm not sure what I will study. I want to find an entry level position in marketing or public relations before I go on to professional studies. Whatever field I go into, I want it to be internationally focused. </p>

<p>My fear is that I am studying two useless majors. What are your opinions, if you have them?</p>

<p>For your short-term goal of working in marketing or PR, presumably with an organization of company that operates in Europe, have you researched who hires for such positions and who do they hire? In other words, once you know where those types of jobs might be, who who is your competition?</p>

<p>That said, I have three words of advice: Internships, internships, internships.</p>

<p>For your longer-term goal of professional studies, it’s difficult to say without knowing what types of professional studies are involved.</p>
