COMM ST 10 INTRO-COMMCTN STDS

^

Well, it sounds interesting. But after reading bruinwalk, I'm a tad bit scared to take it. Anyone have any personal opinions/experiences with it? Is it worth it for a ge/class for first quarter? The memorization part doesn't scare me so much as the nitpicky grading....

Also, any opinions on Life Science or Physics classes ? I want to take some to fulfill GE and premed requirements, but at the same time I'm not sure if I should really take them first quarter. Would it put me behind to take them second quarter?

And is it possible to major in bus. econ/prebiz while fulfilling premed requirements too?

Thanks for the help. Appreciate it much. =)

I've heard that Comm 10 is fairly hardcore but didn't have to take it bc I did an equivalent at CCC. I know plenty of people who have done well in it but it's definitely not an easy A.

i just responded on a thread about this...comm 10 is not difficult. it just requires dedication on your part to sit down and MEMORIZE. and im not talking the day or two before the exam, because that's when you will miss little detials here and there and miss points, hence what seems like nitpicky grading. if you know it word for word, 1000%, they can't take points off. it is very straightforward but if you are not thinking to become a comm major, the time needed to study for this class may not be worth it to you nor the material, becuase it is mostly common sense things with fancy names. it is a midterm, final, and paper. i got an A

as far as life sci...life sci 15 is very very easy :)

Oh my, hehe, thanks you guys ^^

yeah everyone is making me freak out about com 10 too but :/ i think we'll be fine...

i took comm10 winter quarter last year... prof. suman gives the same lecture EVERY SINGLE QUARTER - so you can get notes from prev. quarters and you'll be fine. EVERTHING IS MEMORIZATION, make lists, flash cards...etc. I stupidly began studying 48 hours before the final, i got a B :(
