Hi, I'm an english major at ucla who wants to switch to comm. studies, i was just wondering how difficult is it to get into the comm. major? I know its hard for transfers but what about people already at ucla? any tips/experiences would be greatly appreciated!

min. 3.7 GPA and less than 10% acceptance rate, I heard…

they changed the application process this year, now instead of people each quarter, everyone has to apply in the spring, meaning more compeititon. there’s no minimum gpa because it depends on gpa from the applicant pool. so having a high gpa is extremely recoomend and they look more closely as your grades from the pre-req so I recommond taking the eaisers ones before applying like ling 1, poki sci 40, soc 1. Com 10 is pretty hard, don’t take it untill your in the major, unless you thingk u can handle. (pure memorization)

bascially if you get an A in Communcation 10 you will get in

2nd that Com 10 is hard.

haven’t taken it, but I have heard horror stories from everyone who has. if you have the gpa you probably will have a decent chance of getting in
