Communication Studies majors or UCSD/UCSB people: I need help.

I am down to UCSD and UCSB and cannot decide which to attend.

UCSB: I currently live near the SB area so this would not be a hard move to make. I have been here for 2 years, have done the whole IV partying thing already and have a long term boyfriend, so I don't really go out as much anymore. So, now I would like to determine which would be better for my major.. Does anyone know if SB is easier in Comm (v. UCSD)? Or is anyone familiar with the way the program operates (heavy on theory, more interpersonal focused or media focused?)

UCSD: I really like the SD area and would really like to get out of the central coast. However, I would hate to chose UCSD over UCSB based on that reason alone. I know UCSD has been called "socially dead" and that is a little scary (considering I am pretty outgoing and love making new friends, etc.) I would hate to go to school with an ongoing "downer" vibe (not that people who go there are downers, but if youre surrounded by people who don't socialize or are introverted..its not a really happy place) Also, I am interested in the Media aspect of Comm (which i know SD is big on)

bottom line: Should I just stay and go to UCSB for the social aspect even though I am dying to get out of there, or should i go to UCSD, be happy in SD, but sad becuase my school life is like.. non existent..

I’m trying to make the same choice albeit different major and i live in SD, not SB. My mind keeps changing every day

i am trying to make that same decision,
i think i am going to go to UCSD and major in comm and minor in econ.
if you’re social i wouldn’t worry too much, its only two years and you will make friends for sure
