Im finalizing my college list and am wondering if I'm missing out on other great schools. Im looking particuarly in Urban Areas like NYC, Boston, DC, SoCal but Ill look into anything that you think would be a good fit.

** Mostly looking for Journalism/Broadcast Journalism

Wow, I’m gonna bump this up because I’m in a pretty similar situation (GPA - 3.4, SAT CR + M - 1180, tons of ECs including drama). Similar aspirations, 'cept I wouldn’t go to SoCal.

I thought of Syracuse and Ithaca, but I don’t know how your stats stack up with them: could be reachy. And neither is really in the kind of location you want. How about Emerson in Boston?

Is cost a concern?

Note: I checked, and it looks as if you would be in the bottom 25% at all three. How about Columbia College in Chicago? I can’t find stats for them, be I believe that communications is in their area of strength.

It would be a reach with your current scores, but Emerson College in Boston is an excellent school for communications. I recommend you check them out.

Emerson, Syracuse, BU all have excellent communications programs but I think that they would all be reach schools. Can you retake SATs? Someone also told me that Buffalo has a nice communications program so you can check that school out.
