So, I'm I've been looking at the top tier communication schools, and they are all highly competitive. But I also want to know what other colleges have amazing communication programs, but aren't as selective as Northwestern & USC. Like for example is Ithaca College, Emerson, U of Michigan Ann Arbor any good?

If anyone can help me determining what other colleges have great programs to transfer into that would be helpful!

If you are dead set on “communications” as a major, be more specific, because “communications” can mean anything from broadcasting, journalism, advertisign etc.
if you just want to major in it, then look at other more academic fields like art history english etc, if you don’t want the competition but want an extremely well known school.

Anything you plan to do with communications is bound to be better done in a city, which is why I personally just advise you to concentrate on schools in large cities as they often are more recruited by employers within their city.

Instead of making a new thread, I’ll just update this one :)

I did some research, and have narrowed down colleges, but the problem is, I don’t know which one is better than the other. Can someone help?

I’m thinking of applying to (for communications) :

(in state)
UCSD
UCSB
UCLA
Chapman

(OOS)
ASU
Ithaca
Emerson
Northwestern
Syracuse
U of Missouri
UNC-CH
U of Oregon

I know that Syracuse, Northwestern & Mizzou are the best in communications, but other than that, how would the ranking go with the other listed colleges? Opinions anyone?
