I toured Bama this past spring and put down marketing or advertising as my intended major. The tour guide set me up with the business school so I never got to view the communications school. I am hoping to one day work as an account planner at an advertising agency (not the creative/designing side of it). I’ve also considered something like campaign manager because I have an interest in politics. Back to the main question though, can anyone tell me about their or someone they know’s experience in the communications school? Do the students in the school have a hard time getting internships and jobs? Since I missed the tour, any information is appreciated!

You’ll have a more marketable degree if it’s out of the business school. The news/publications business is in such a turmoil right now, people are lucky to have jobs of any description in that field.
