Community at Rutgers? (NB)

I live 10 minutes from Rutgers (NB) and I've always snubbed it, naturally. But I attended the honors day thing on Friday and I kinda started to like it, much to my surprise.

I'm looking at the Douglass Campus just because it seems like it's smaller and more of a community. The thing I'm scared about is ending up lost and confused in a HUGE university. I don't like lecture halls, I don't like feeling lost. I love coziness and I wanted a college experience like one at Villanova or Boston College. However, due to a lot of reasons, I've become much more reasonable and am seriously considering Rutgers.

Do the Honors Program and/or the Douglass Residential College provide any sense of community? Is there anything else in Rutgers that can make it seem more intimate? I'm really sensitive and I'm really looking for the tight knit thing you get at small, medium colleges without the claustrophobic, limited feel.
