Community College and CSU at the same time?

I am currently enrolled at CalState Long Beach. I am not enjoying it much, so I eventually want to transfer to a UC. I will be going back next semester to retake a class that cannot be retaken at a CC.
My question:
Can I be enrolled (half-time) at CSULB and a CC at the same time? (for Fall 2015)

I only want to be at CSULB for this next semester, then leave to be full time at a CC for Spring 2016. Then, of course, transfer.

Thank you.

You can concurrently enroll in courses at a CC and CSU.

Not really enough info here to provide any real advice. Tell me a little more about you and i can help guide you further.

What is your current class level? What do you want to study? Which UC do you have in mind? What kind of grades are you earning at CSULB?

I am a freshman. My major right now is English and I plan on sticking to it. I want to go to UCLA, UCSB, or UCSC. I have a 3.3 GPA but it will probably go down to a 3.0 after this semester.

You can be a part-time student at a CC anytime but I think you must have CSULB approval for part-time status.
Also, are you on financial aid?

I’d suggest you start at a CC next semester - Fall 2015, get your pre reqs locked down and use TAG to transfer to UCSC or UCSB. You’ll probably need a 3.4 to pull that off. Do you think you can make that kind of improvement?

If not, I’d stay put.

UCLA will take a 3.6+ which is going to be very difficult.
