Community College classes- another class?

Hi I'm a junior and this year I will be taking the AP Pscyhology exam (self-study and confident at least a 4 or better) and will be taking the BIO SAT II in the beginning of senior year. Would it look good or bad on my college application if I enrolled in Psychology and Biology in a community college? The reasons are because I think the bio class would help in the SAT II and the AP bio class I will be taking next year and the psychology class is interesting.

However, i am afraid college admissions people would see me taking Psychology and Bio at a community college as a waste of time since I was already going to take the bio sat II exam and class next year, and that I already took the Psychology class.

What do you thinK I should do? Keep the two classes or find other two?

If you take a community college class, you certainly won’t need to take an AP course in that subject. The AP courses are designed to prepare you for an exam that if you pass will demonstrate that you have learned more-or-less what you would have learned in an introductory college-level course. In other words, the AP course is a kind of “fake college course” whereas the community college class is a real college class.

Self-studying for an AP in a subject area that you intend to take a real college class in is also a bit silly. An A in Psych. 101 will almost certainly yield transferable credits, while even a 4 on the AP exam might not yield credit or placement at the college you end up at.

Why don’t you just look for a summer job, or an internship in something that is interesting to you?
