As of now my freshman year in high school is ending and i wanted to take many AP courses next year. One of the 3 AP courses I decided to take is AP biology, being in biology honors at the time. My teacher told me that our district requires me to take chemistry before taking AP bio and AP chemistry (later on in my junior year). So....I decided that I would take chemistry in dual enrollment this summer (in addition to another class =]). This will allow me to take the AP bio/chem classes. Do you guys think its a good idea to take Community college classes to accomplish this?

…

Are you wanting to major in science? don’t do it just to take “many” AP’s. Remember that you will have to do well in those classes or what is the point in just taking them?

I don’t want to major in science, but i’m going to have to take these classes anyways, AP or not. The way i see it, I might as well take the most challenging form of the class since it gives the most rewards, specially academically (study habits, note taking skills, etc. etc.), even if i’m not particularly interested in the subject :)

remember that it’s not just about taking all the AP’s that one can take. It’s about painting a picture of yourself to show your passions and your strengths. You want the school to be the best fit for you.

^But paint that picture while taking all the AP tests you can take (key phrase: “it’s not just about” ;))

Kidding. But not really.
