If I take classes at my community college, where does it help in terms of my GPA? My counselor said that it counts toward your weighted but not your unweighted. Some say this is false. What do you guys know about this?

And if I got a C in spanish, could I "make it up" if I got an A in a community college class and still continued my spanish until spanish 5 at the college?

Each school district determines its own policy about recording CC classes on HS transcripts. Some do. Some don’t. Some weight the grades. Some don’t. Your counselor knows your school district’s policy.

Each college/university that you apply to determines its own policy about evaluating CC classes taken while a student is in HS. Some will consider them to be the equivalent of weighted coursework. Some won’t. Some will let you transfer them for credit. Some won’t. Until you ask the college/university admissions offices about their individual policies, you have no way of knowing how those institutions will evaluate your courses.

If you are having difficulty in Spanish at your HS, and you would like to take it at the CC, it would be OK to do that. One year of Spanish at a CC is roughly equivalent to two years of Spanish in HS.
