Hello,
I'm a senior and I'm taking AP Chem and AP English. My high school has a program with our local community college where you can purchase credits for the AP classes you are taking, regardless of how well you do on the AP exam.

I hear that for medical school admissions you need to submit all transcripts of all courses taken in the past 10 years. Will I have to submit the transcript with these two courses on it? Will it affect my application in any way?

I'm planning on taking these courses first semester next year anyway.

Not just the past 10 years. Any college credits earned ever. (I believe the 10 year rule only applies to TX med schools.)

If you have college credits from a CC due to this arrangement, you MUST include the information on your AMCAS application, include the grades in GPA/sGPA calculations and submit original CC transcripts to support your application.

If you have college credit from a CC, then repeat the class at your 4 year college, you will have to explain you have taken the same course twice. (It looks like you’re gaming the system. And med school adcoms hate that.) Furthermore, any grade you earn at your 4 year may be devalued because you’ve repeated the course. (“Of course, he got an A, it’s the second time he’s taken the class.” Or conversely if don’t ace the class at the 4 year: “Wow. What’s wrong with this student that he can’t master the material even the second time.”)

I’m assuming that when you ‘purchase’ the juco credits, they are Pass/Fail? If so, they won’t help grad school admissions. On the contrary, they’ll be a detriment and a hassle to explain.
