Community College credits- taking add'l classes after I have my associates?

I just got my A.S. degree-- I want to transfer to a 4 year school, but not until next fall (a year from now). Can I keep taking (a few) classes at my community college and use them as transfer credits towards a degree at a 4 year school?

I still haven't taken any lab sciences or advanced maths-- so maybe I could get these core classes done at CC to use towards my bachelors?

(I didn't get these science/maths done because I transferred FROM a 4 year school where I did a million English lit classes, then just did the minimum at CC to finish a General Studies degree as quickly as I could.)

If you came from a 4 year to a CC I think there might be a unit cap on how many units you can take prior to transferring to a 4 year again. This is a really good and important question probably best answered by your counselor. Just make sure whatever 4 year you are transferring to doesn’t have unit caps. If you did all your work at CC instead of 4 year -> CC, I don’t think there would be any problem.
