I have a question, can i go to a community college then transfer to a University after a semester, a year, or 2 years? I'm planning on going to a community college first but for least amount of time as possible.

Is it true that you can transfer to a University as long as you have atleast 15 credits?

Does the commuity college have to have the major that i want to major in? I want to become a Aerospace Engineer but most community colleges don't have that major. Let me remind you i only want to go to community college for the least amount i can.

Is UCF a good university for aerospace engineering?

Can you please list the steps from transfering to a university from a community college.

Here is my simple story, i want to go to UCF but my mom insists i stay home and go to a community college her. She said that her and dad will buy me a new car and stuff, so im going to stay here in jacksonville, fl. But once i get my car i want to move and i told my dad my plan, i live with both my parents but my dad wants me to go out and explore and do what i have to do but my mom is soft and probably cry a lake if i leave. Please help me.

Transfer requirements for UCF are shown here:

Note that high school records are considered for transfer applicants with fewer than 60 semester hours of college credit, but are not considered for those who have at least 60 semester hours of college credit. This policy is likely common at other four year schools.

Of course, you will want to take courses which will prepare you to go directly into your intended major after transfer. This means that, whether you start at CC or a four year school, you will likely need to take the following in your first two years for aerospace engineering:

Calculus 1, 2, 3 (unless you start ahead with AP credit)
Linear algebra and differential equations
Calculus-based physics 1, 2 for engineering and physics majors
Introductory engineering courses in statics, materials, electronics, etc.
Chemistry if required by the major
English composition
Humanities and social studies breadth courses

Community colleges won’t have aerospace engineering majors, but should offer most of the above courses to prepare you to transfer into the aerospace engineering major at a four year school.
