Community College for 3 years with a 3.5 gpa. Now's my time to transfer, BUT I'M GOING TO GET AN F.

Hi guys,

The deadline for transfer applications is due november 30th…

I’ve been at JC for 3 years now and I need to apply in the next couple days.

I’m taking an online accounting 1B class that I intended to drop, I’ve been struggling with it immensely and learned absolutely NOTHING in accounting 1A so I have no foundation. But, on the last day to withdraw, the button to drop had already been disabled.

I read through the college policy and if you receive a failing grade you can retake the class once without penalty and replace the grade.

The thing is… I need to apply… and even if I get accepted to my transfer school they will see that F and dismiss my acceptance.

Has anyone dealt with this situation??

Please help… I’m so stressed out, I can’t sleep or eat… I can’t spend another year at community college.

The nearest counseling appointment is Dec 8th… I took it, but they wont be able to help me with applications…

If you apply this week won’t your transcript go to the schools before you finish the course and the grade is posted? Then when it becomes a potential issue you can already be retaking the course to repair the grade. I can say for certainty that this will make a difference but it seems reasonable to me that this would not be a unique situation for colleges. Try not to panic while you work through the steps of finding out.

Have you tried talking to your professor about this? Is there absolutely no way for you to be able to pass the class?
