hey guys
i am a senior in high school and plan on going to nova community college and transferring. i just had a few questions

would i be able to transfer to uva's undergrad school of medicine or mcintire commerce?

what classes should i take at nova before i transfer?

would it be better to do 2 years and transfer or just 1 year or just 1 semester before i transfer?

The earlier you transfer the better.
IDK about their Med School but McIntire takes students during the beginning of their third year. Transferring earlier will ensure that you meet all of the core requirements at UVa. I’m not 100% sure when I say this, but I think the business school at UVa is more likely to accept UVa students than transfer students. With that being said you do NOT want to wait two years before you transfer.

There is no undergrad school of medicine. You would probably major in Bio, Chem, or something similar. You can try to transfer into McIntire, but it’s tough. Don’t plan on it.

I can’t help.

If you can afford it, I would try to transfer after your 1st year, then again after your second. This would give you more of a chance to get in.

I’ll likely be doing the same from the university I enroll in this fall. It’s a good school, but I have to go to UVa. You’ll be in best shape, from my research, if you get through all of the basic requirements for an Undergrad, so that you can just work on your major at UVA. First-years can’t spring transfer no matter what (sad, I’d planned on building up my credits over the summer to go in early), and it’s hard as a fall transfer as well, but it obviously can be done as long as you work hard. So apply first year, and if you don’t get in ( I can’t imagine the pain of being denied again next year), try again second year. Yes, anyone can apply to transfer into McIntire for their third year, even UVA students have to apply for it. If that’s what you want to do, you can always wait and apply then, but I’m sure its far more competitive. There’s no such thing as an undergrad school of medicine, you apply for arts & sciences (or anything, really) and get the pre-med req’s, but aside from that, you can really study anything for Med School.

I’ve applied to transfer from NOVA to UVA and applied to McIntire, so PM me if you have any unanswered questions. I’m on this site pretty often.
