Community college help!!! Transcript/probation

Ok so I want to withdraw next semester from a four year college in Michigan and go to a local community college instead. I want to apply for classes asap but on the cc application it asks if I have been on academic probation and I know I will be put on probation this semester. So do I have to wait to apply until my gpa is calculated and my official transcript is sent so that I would be able to say that I was put on probation this semester and explain the reasons or should I apply without saying anything even though I don’t have an official transcript with my grades from this semester yet??? How long does it take for a community college to accept you to register for classes? I’m worried that I won’t be able to get the time/day slots I want. Thanks

Be up front about your difficulties. CCs are known to give you lots of leeway; it’s part of their mission. So take advantage of enrolling now and getting the classes you need.

Good luck

You do not state that you are on academic probation until you have actually been placed on probation. That means that you should apply right now, and send your current transcript. Most CCs are pretty quick with admissions. Whether you can register for classes immediately depends on that particular CCs policy. You need to find out from them.

If you indeed do end up being placed into academic probation by your current college at the end of this semester, that will be the time to let the CC know. In any case, you will need to have a final transcript sent to the CC, so they will know your grades.

Wishing you all the best!
