Hello,

I am planning to transfer to UCLA (mathematics/economics major) or UCSD (dual mathematics/economics major) as my backup.

I received my first C in college - the class was Honors U.S. History (colonial) - I have to pass 5 honors classes to get priority consideration for UCLA's TAP (transfer alliance program for California CC's). It is only a GE class, and it has only had a minimal effect on my GPA since I have virtually all A's in my other class (I still have a 3.7ish which I expect will be in the 3.8 range by transfer time). Of course, I have A's in all of my pre-major classes (specific prerequisites required by UCLA on ASSIST - math, economics, foreign language, etc.).

My question is - overall GPA aside, is a C in a GE class likely to be overlooked in light of straight A's in pre-major/prerequisite courses? Especially since I received an A in Honors U.S. History (modern), which was the next class in the history sequence.

Thanks -
