Community College to Columbia?

Hello all,

Im seeking fall 2016 transfer admission, my reach/first choice school is Columbia. Its certainly a reach, but chance me!

HS Stats:
GPA: 2.3
SATs: 1570
ECs:
-Varsity Soccer
-Full-time employment
-Volunteer at local animal shelter

College Stats: Community College
Transfer Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.85; 4.0 in major
Phi Theta Kappa
Regional Political Science Award Recipient
Hispanic Achievement Award Recipient
Published: two op-ed articles published by semi-prevalent news print/website
ECs:
-Part-time employment
-Intern at County Democratic Committee
-Intern at Clean Water Action
-Volunteer at local animal shelter
-Member of college environmental sustainability club
Other:
-3 excellent recommendations
-Very good essay
-URM
-High GPA despite 40-60 hrs/week of extracurricular commitments
-3 cousins attended Columbia, 1 currently attends Barnard

Let me know what you guys think. I know my HS stats are something, but you can’t undo the past. I am doubtful of my chances at Columbia, but you never know. Im also applying to Cornell, and I think I have a substantially better chance of admission there. Also considering UMich, George Washington U, UPenn and Northwestern. Let me know if you think there may be some universities of similar standing where I have a chance that I may be missing.
