Is it possible to transfer with a 4.0 from a CC and have a good shot at ND? Or do they want to see more than that? I performed poorly in HS and will do anything it takes to have a shot at this school. I am looking into taking the SAT's as well.

What SAT/ACT school would get me in?

Any subject tests I should take?

I have taken 5 AP's..a few honors classes. My gpa in HS was like a 3.2 or something.

The best thing you can do is talk with admissions and make sure you are taking the right classes. Back when I transferred (approximately 6 years ago) I came in with a few students from community colleges, so it was possible, but there weren’t many and they were held to a higher standard (you need a 3.9 or 4.0). I wouldn’t say you will have a great shot since ND has stated that they prefer transfers from 4-year colleges, but it is possible to prove yourself in a CC and then get in.

Ask admissions what they think of your SAT/ACT score but often they don’t require you take them and they don’t play a huge role in transferring. The reason for this is all the SAT or ACT do is try to predict how well you will do in college. Your college GPA is an actual measure of this, so it is a much better indicator.

I hope that helps. Just know that it is possible, but it is tough. Talk with admissions and make sure you take the right classes. GOOD LUCK!
